Movie Day!

Yay!  Today is movie day!  That means I have bindings to do.  Yes, I save them up and choose my movies and take a day to do the handwork side of the bindings.  Handwork is not my favorite thing to do so this way I give myself a treat by making it a special day just for bindings.  It also means that the "Ta-Da" moment of the quilt is close at hand.

Here is the Civil War quilt as I finished it.
Here is a better picture of the setting triangles and the feather design in them.

Sewing the binding on....yes, I use a walking foot to put my binding on.
This is the quilt completed but before it headed to the washing machine.  I treat each quilt differently according to its use and the look I want to achieve.
This is the quilt after a trip through the washer and dryer.  I did this so that it would shrink up and get that "old" look.  The rather open quilting designs also show up better when it shrinks up.  I love the way it looks now that it is finished and wrinkled up.

Now it is time to get back to the Surprise quilt.  I am all warmed up and ready to go.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are eagerly looking forward to the new year.
Happy New Year!

Keep Doodling!
